My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that
Every student, no matter his/her background, disabilities, or difficulties, has the potential to learn, and to succeed.
Every student has his/her own way of learning, and that every lesson can be taught many different ways in order to reach the most students possible.
Assessment is not only about grades. Assessment is about learning about your students, where they thrive, and where they need extra support.
Learning should be student-centered. It should be engaging, and as interactive as possible.
Teaching should not be stagnant: students should, and need to move and experience their lesson.
Keeping a calm and positive attitude will keep a classroom calm and positive.
A classroom should a safe, inviting, and welcoming environment where any student feels comfortable, no matter the situation.
Technology can be one of your best classroom assets, if used properly.
Teaching is a team effort: from your school’s administrative and support staff to your colleagues, and of course, your students (and their parents/guardians), and the community, are an integral part of a well rounded classroom.
Teachers should keep trying to improve their teaching practices, constantly re-evaluating and re-inventing themselves.
Every student, no matter his/her background, disabilities, or difficulties, has the right to the very best education that I can provide.
