Elementary School Teacher (April 2017-Present)
Ecole Vision Terrebonne

• On-Call Substitute teacher for a private elementary school in Terrebonne, Quebec.

• Became a permanent (full time) teacher August 2017.

• Taught various disciplines, including English and math (cycle 2), Geography, History, and Science (cycle 2 and 3), and Technology and Digital Citizenship (Grades K-6)

• Created and moderated a coding club which became a school-wide monthly event.

• In charge of many Technology-related administrative tasks, including Chromebook purchasing and management, and device set-up.

Substitute Teacher (December 2015-Present)
Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board

• On-Call Substitute teacher for Mountainview Elementary.

• Replaced teachers in E.L.A, Math, and FSL in elementary school settings.

• Replaced full-time (5 weeks) in May and June 2016, teaching E.L.A. and E.R.C. in grade 2.

  • Was responsible for creating and teaching engaging lessons according to competencies and progressions of learning for two grade 2 classrooms, including one homeroom.​

  • Administered and graded Cycle 1 Learning Evaluation Situation for both grade 2 classes.

  • Took care of all administrative teaching tasks including report cards and closing IEPs.

Student Teacher, Grade 3-4 (7 weeks Spring 2017)
Vision School, Terrebonne, Quebec

• Responsible for 100% of teaching (language arts and math for grade 3, science and social studies for grades 3 and 4), including planning and evaluation.

• Observed and learned about running extra-curricular, in school activities, such as the Theater club.

• Tutor student in sec. 2 math, more specifically teaching algebra.

Student Teacher, Grade 1-2 (15 weeks Fall 2015)
Mountainview Elementary School, Two Mountains, Quebec

• Responsible for 75-100% of teaching (language arts, math for grade 1, math for grade 2), including planning and evaluation.

• Assisted Co-operating teacher with assessments, report cards, I.E.P. creation, and parent-teacher conferences.

 

Student Teacher, Kindergarten (3 weeks, Spring 2015)
McCaig Elementary School, Rosemere, Quebec

• Observed and learned strategies to teach Kindergarten students at the end of the school year in order to have a smooth transition to 1st grade.

• Planned and taught unit on plant growth.

• Worked with a behaviour specialist and cooperating teacher to assess and implement special strategies for a student
  with behaviour issues.

• Observed and learned how to manage a kindergarten classroom at the begining of the school year.

• Assisted the cooperating teacher with her lessons and classroom management.

• Co-planned and taught unit on squirrels.

• Assisted the co-operating teacher, as well as the pre-school teachers during a field trip to the botanical gardens.
