Teaching Art

Teaching art in elementary school is not solely about cardboard and fingerprinting. I believe that students should be taught artistic basics from a young age: from experimenting with different mediums to learning about fine arts, graphic arts, photography, and 3D art. Elementary students should be free to explore these topics in an environment that is inviting and accepting of all artistic abilities. While experimenting with art, students should also learn about art history: where is art found, who created famous art pieces, and when did they create these pieces.
