Teaching Math and Science: An Overview

Math and Science can be daunting subjects for young students as, for many students, it is not a skill that is intuitive; learning math and science concepts can take some effort to understand. This is why it is important to make sure that students understand the basics of math before moving on to more abstract concepts.
It is also important to remember that all students learn in different ways, and at different paces. It may take longer for some students than others to grasp certain lessons. This is why using lessons that include small group-work such as stations can be useful, as it can help you work with students that may need more time and assistance to understand basic concepts, while other students can apply their knowledge to further explore how the concepts learned can be used.
Interactive lessons where students acquire knowledge by experiencing the concept hands-on is also beneficial to learners as it helps students to actually see and feel the concept that they are learning about.
Below you will find two lesson plans, one for math and one for science, that use groups work and interactive lessons in order to facilitate learning.
